Sand Dabs

Smaller than the Petrale but equally delicious in its own right! These will also be be coming in from the F/V Miss Moriah out of Half Moon Bay!

Sand Dabs are a San Francisco specialty - these little delicate flatfish have been a favorite pan fried - a quick dip in an egg wash and then some bread crumbs and served with butter and lemon and fresh parsley. Tadich Grill has been serving them in the french style this way for over 160 years and they are still famous for them now!

These guys will come pan ready - meaning they will have their heads removed and will be gutted but some fins and the central bones will remain - they come out like magic when cooked - just grab the spine and pull the whole skeletal structure out!

Single Orders of Sand Dabs will include 1.5lbs of pan ready fish that have been headed and gutted.

Regular orders too much seafood for you?  Try a half share!

Premium Selection -

Monterey Bay King Salmon

Our favorite way to enjoy our Salmon is cut into steaks - they are approachable, easy to remove the bones, and the best way to enjoy your salmon on the grill!  We have videos and information on how to debone your steak on our King Salmon page.

Whole Fish is also available!

Enjoying a whole Monterey Bay King Salmon is an unforgettable experience.  It always an amazing time whether you are breaking down a fish for your first time, or entertaining your close friends and family.  Luckily, salmon is probably the easiest type of fish to fillet, and its forgiving on first timers!  We have a couple great video tutorials on our Salmon page that will help you break down your fish in no time!

These fish are caught one at a time and handled with the utmost care.  Our partner boat, the F/V Genesis, is Captained by our friend, Scot Edson.  He operates a family operation almost always fishing with his mom and dad.  He is usually docked in Half Moon Bay, but we have landed fish from him from Monterey to Bodega Bay.  These particular King Salmon will be caught in Monterey as long as fishing conditions stay on our side!

Our partners at Seafood Watch consider these fish a Good Alternative because the fishery is not as well managed as they would like it to be, often times endangered King Salmon are caught in waters north of us; however, this rarely occurs down here - we have yet to hear about it happening.
Full shares of King Salmon Steaks will be $28 and consist of 1 lb of salmon steaks
Whole fish are $19/ lb
Specialty Cuts (Tail and Collars) $16/lb

Our specialty cuts are some of our favorite parts of the fish, they usually include collars, tails, and belly sections; however, since we are offering steaks this round only tails and collars will be available.  Whole roasted salmon tail anyone?!

- Just a reminder -

Full Shares are always $28 for premium selections
Whole fish are $19/lb and the final weight will be invoiced upon arrival of the fish.  Opting-In to this delivery is simply reserving the fish, and then we will be in touch with the final weight.

Seaweed Salsa and Pickles are back!!

Barnacle - Alaskan Kelp Salsa and Pickles

Seaweed salsa?! You will never want to switch back to regular salsa after trying this amazing, handcrafted, small batch salsa from Barnacle.  Our minds were blown after we dipped our first chip!

Barnacle was started by Matt and Lia - they grew up in Southeast Alaska - and for years they have been making salsa and pickles from fresh Alaskan Bull Kelp for their friends and families.

In their own words:

"We realized we were making something special, a taste of home that we should share with more than our friends and family. Bringing the wild flavors of Southeast Alaska from our kitchen into yours. But, more than that, we want to work toward strengthening Alaska’s food system by producing tasty and nutritious products from abundant local resources. In remote and rural Southeast Alaska, we rely on our community and we want our work to help support that community. To ensure Barnacle benefits our community we will keep our business firmly rooted in here, in Southeast Alaska.

Our first goal is to make delicious food, but we’re also conscious about using abundant and sustainable local food sources like wild kelp. By preserving kelp in the form of salsas and pickles, we are bringing this renewable resource to your kitchen year round. Thank you for your support!"

We are proud to support a small, sustainable, Alaskan company - we kickstarted our venture on a trip to Kodiak, AK - and truly believe in quality and integrity of the people there and products that they produce.
